BCSDA gives evidence to Parliamentary inquiry into solar panel reuse and recycling
Sydney, 24 September 2026 — The Business Council for Sustainable Development Australia (BCSDA) appeared before the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Climate Change, Energy, Environment and Water as part of its inquiry into solar panel reuse and recycling in Australia.
BCSDA CEO Andrew Petersen represented the organisation at the Committee’s Sydney public hearing, following BCSDA’s lodgement of Submission 22 to the inquiry.
BCSDA’s submission examines the issue from a business, circular-economy and implementation perspective, including product stewardship, collection and logistics, reuse pathways, domestic recycling and end-markets, data and traceability, and the sequencing of policy measures.
The public hearing provides a further opportunity for BCSDA to contribute a business perspective to the Committee’s consideration of how Australia can improve the management of solar panels at end of life while supporting reuse, recycling and circular-economy outcomes.
BCSDA will continue to follow the inquiry as the Committee progresses its work.
