Councils invited to join the SDG Cities Challenge

Updated: a day ago

BCSD Australia is working with the Connected Cities Lab at the University of Melbourne and the Banksia Foundation to identify the best approach for cities to deliver on the Sustainable Development Goals.

Ten cities from the Oceania and Asia-Pacific region will be selected to participate in the first year of the project. The first 12-month cycle will be centred around an in-person five-day workshop which will give participating cities the opportunity to share their experiences and urban challenges with expert support from a diverse group of urban stakeholders.

The SDGs Cities Challenge will link cities with their urban partners in academia, business and community in a structured process of co-design. This will create innovative approaches for cities to accelerate action towards the Sustainable Development Goals, in particular SDG11: Sustainable Cities and communities.

Expressions of interest can be submitted until 11.59pm 7 April 2020.
